Dr. Nicole Johnson is the founder of the Digital Learning Leadership Corporation, the Executive Director of the Canadian Digital Learning Research Association (CDLRA), and an internationally-recognized researcher, speaker, and thought leader in the field of digital learning. She has collaborated with many organizations in the higher education sector over the years in her various roles including: Academica Group, Bay View Analytics, BCcampus, BCCAT, Campus Manitoba, CMEC, Contact North | Contact Nord, D2L, eCampusOntario, ICDE, the Maritime Provinces Higher Education Commission, Online Learning Consortium, Opened Culture, the Québec Ministry of Education, Risepoint, Transport Canada, and WCET. She also works directly with post-secondary institutions across Canada. She currently serves on the International Advisory Board for the International Journal of Educational Technology in Higher Education, as a member of the Editorial Board for Open Praxis, and as co-lead for the North American Task Force for ICDE’s Global Advocacy Campaign (to advance inclusive, scalable, and sustainable education). Everything she does is focused on making high-quality learning experiences available to more people through strategic and responsible technology use.

Dr. Johnson works remotely from her home in the Fraser Valley of British Columbia, which is on the traditional, ancestral, unceded shared territory of the Sema:th First Nation and the Máthxwi First Nation. These two First Nations are part of the Stó:lō Nation and the Stó:lō people have lived in the Fraser Valley for 10 000 years. She acknowledges that she is an uninvited guest and is committed to treading gently on the land while she learns more about the history of her community and the ongoing impacts of colonialism.
