Introducing the Digital Learning Leadership Community
I’m not sure about you, but most times when I get a big idea, it’s immediately followed by an ever bigger wave of self-doubt. Despite having talked to many people in the field to see if this is something that people wanted and felt like they needed (the answer was a resounding “yes”), the moment of turning an idea into an actuality is mostly terrifying.
For about two years, and especially over the last year, a vision for community has been slowly forming in my mind. Those of you who I talked to about the cloudy, foggy idea that I just couldn’t seem to clarify (but was continually drawn back to) will be glad to know that I finally had my a-ha moment. It literally was one of those moments where I woke up one morning, sat straight up in my bed, and knew exactly what I wanted to do. I’ve never had one of those moments before and, honestly, it felt surreal and awesome.
So, with no further ado, I’m delighted to introduce the Digital Learning Leadership Community!! I’m still in the process of building it out fully, but I did a soft launch earlier this month and it was a success (hooray!).
What is the Digital Learning Leadership Community?
My vision is to grow a free, supportive community for digital learning advocates, experts, scholars, practitioners, and service providers from a wide range of academic disciplines. The purpose of the community is to break down silos, share ideas, and explore the potential of technology use to improve the educational experience for students. Community members will receive resources, insights, and invitations to virtual discussions to support the advancement of strategic and responsible technology use for teaching and learning. I have a lot of fun things planned for us.
How to join:
Good old-fashioned email continues to be the most efficient and reliable way to tell folks about upcoming events and new resources. To join the community, simply click here and subscribe to the email list. And, voila, you’re in!
Contact me anytime if you have questions. I’m looking forward to watching the community come together and grow!
